Chase Mitchell pitches shutout against Kansas

Golden Giant Chase Mitchell had a good outing against KU last night. From the KSU release:
The complete-game shutout for Mitchell (5-5) was the first-ever for a K-State pitcher in Big 12 play over nine innings and the second ever as Jonathan Guiterrez tossed a complete-game, seven-inning shutout of Kansas back in 2002. Mitchell scattered two singles, struck out five and walked two over 9.0 innings and retired 17 in a row at one point until a one-out single in the ninth.
From the KU release:
Kansas State junior Chase Mitchell tossed a complete game two-hitter as the Wildcats downed the University of Kansas baseball team, 7-0, on Friday at Tointon Stadium.

The loss drops KU's overall record to 27-21 this season and 4-11 in Big 12 play, while Kansas State improves to 23-18 and 7-12 in conference action.

Mitchell was the story of the game as he allowed only four base runners in the contest while striking out five.
