Another lefty that should provide Hopkins with many opportunities to drive in runs is junior college transfer Vince Rodden (Overland Park, Kan.). Rodden, who came to NMSU from Johnson County Community College, should be the Aggies starting centerfielder and hit at the top of the order this spring. As a sophomore at Johnson County, Rodden led the nation with 64 stolen bases and was named first team All-Region VI after hitting .363 with 70 runs.
"I need to perform well and do whatever I can to help the team be successful," Rodden said. "The biggest adjustment for me this season will be the quality of pitching. The competition will also be a lot better here at NMSU."
