The Golden Giants got their first win in Chillicothe on Saturday, defeating the Mudcats 16 runs to 12.
Golden Giants highlights were numerous, but the momentum seemed to turn in the top of the 3rd. The Giants were down 3 runs when Mudcats starter Josh Davis hit batters Jake Dean, Tommy Mangino and Nick Carlson, loading the bases. All three scored on Brian Martinek double to right field, tieing the game. Martinek ended the game 2 for 4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Also hitting well were Russ Emerick (3 for 6 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored), Jason Cooper (2 for 4 with 2 runs scored) and Daniel Heflin (2 for 5 with 2 RBIs).
